Starting with quality rifles such as the Ruger No.1, Mauser, Winchester Model 70, Ruger M77, CZ, or BRNO, I transform them into sleek, slender hunting rifles inspired by the elegance of 1910 designs. I also craft the elegant Faeton Underhammer muzzleloading rifles and Model 1911 .45 Super Longslide pistols. Call me or visit my site, which is listed on some of the photos, for more information regarding my line of fine bespoke firearms. Also check out my Custom Services listing under GUNSMITHING. Description: Harry Sanford’s brainchild, the AutoMag pistol, has had an interesting history since its introduction in the early 1970s. Early on it became a leader in the developing sport of handgun hunting and has taken game, large and small, on every continent except Antarctica. Its prowess and success as a hunting handgun is legendary and continues on today as new shooters discover it and succumb to its sexy charm and appeal. For Sale is a Model B (stronger, solid bolt) AutoMag with two barrels; one a .44 AMP and the other the .357 AMP. Both barrels are 6 inches with a smooth rib on the .44 and the serrated rib on the .357. The .44 is a Model 280 El Monte barrel and marked TDE (Trust Deed Enterprises) and OMC (Ordnance Manufacturing Corporation). The .357 is a Model 180 El Monte barrel but is marked with the TDE logo and the rather rare Lee Jurras logo. This pistol is not a gunsafe queen, but rather a working pistol that has taken more than its fair share of big and exotic game. Obviously, it’s a used pistol and in “used” condition, although remarkably clean and crisp indicating good care and maintenance. In addition to the pistol are two sets of grips – one custom wood, the other black factory nylon and a variety of small (hard to find) spare parts including recoil rods and springs, a spare hammer and safety, 3 firing pins and many smaller parts as indicated in the photos. And, don’t forget those 2 spare magazines! Also included in this package deal is an original .44 Model 180 Shooter’s Manual and loading dies for the .44 AMP plus forming and loading dies for the .357 AMP. If that wasn’t enough, there are 500 unfired Starline .44 AMP cases, 300+ fired .44 cases, and about 200 unfired .357 AMP cases. This rare offering is a package deal only. No parts are available separately. Additional photos are available to serious parties only. Price does not include shipping/insurance. Call for more information. SOLD |
