Description:
Colt 1949 Pocket Model, in Custom Presentation Case; .31 caliber. Serial number is 112582. Gun is in original condition. The presentation case and authentic accoutrements (flask, ELEY pill box, nipple wrench and bullets) were assembled for this set. The silver-plated grip frame retains over 95% of its finish showing a little tarnish that could be removed. The cylinder has turned silver-gray with the roll mark still proud. The frame is a mottled case color that is now mostly blue-gray. The loading lever has faded case-color on the sides; the ram has faded to a blue-gray color. The barrel retains about 75% of the factory blue, polished finish; with various marks present and wear near the muzzle. The left grip panel has a few minor dents on the bottom and on the sharp edge where the butt meets the side. There is a compression on the right panel, apparent in the photo. Despite these marks, the grips rate about fine. This gun had been fired at some time in the distant past but not by the current owner. This set has been in the same collection since 1954. The original sales slip and letter from the selling dealer in 1954, COLONEL ARCADE GLUCKMAN, of Carmel, California are provided.
