PRE WW2 SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 OR M-1 GARAND RIFLE .30-06 RECEIVER AND BARREL, CIRCA Nov. 1940. Serial number "8480X" under crisply struck "Springfield"…address so never refinished as original parkerizing a nice dark patina and edges sharp. Only signs of use are some salt and pepper on underside of receiver where wood meets metal but only superficial areas. Drawing numbers on leg are correct for this early receiver "D28291-3 S A". Correct "9-40" dated barrel with drawing number "D35448-2 T 12-A". Barrel has original parkerizing and crisp stamps along with fair bore at best. Threads excellent at both ends. No sights on receiver. Nice early Pre-WW2 rebuild project.
