Description:
SALE PENDING.  This rifle  appears to have seen very little, if any, use.  It is pristine, except for rubs on the ocular bell of the scope, small handling marks in stock near bolt handle, and the inevitable "belt buckle" rubs on the left side of the stock at the receiver.  I've tried to capture all of this gun in photos.   The gun dates to 1941.  According to Roger Rule's book (p. 248) 1940-41 was the only year that a factory-installed scope was an option.  Winchester put Lyman Alaskan 2.5 power scopes in Griffin & Howe sidemounts, and that is precisely what this rifle is fitted with.  It also has a Lyman WSJ 48 receiver sight, nicely fitted with the scope mount, so that with the scope removed, the peep bridge slides into the sight base.  The sight comes with its original box and installation instructions.  Optics and bore are excellent.  Supergrade swivels are in place, and I think the sling might even have been on the gun since 1941.  Price includes shipping.
