His cartouche is displayed on the left grip under the year-date "1880"
Inspected by David F. Cark who's initials "DFC" may be observed on the frame and grip
The fact that these revolvers from within the 62,000 serial range and that this example is referenced in the Artillery configuration could point to the conclustion that they had been issued to the states for their militia regiments.
