Description:
In 1663, King Charles II of England issued the Carolina Charter of 1663, granting eight of his supporters land in America that later became the states of North and South Carolina. In 1963, in the tercentenary year, Colt issued 250 commemorative sets of the Carolina Charter Tercentenary revolvers. This revolver is one of two in the set. It is an unfired Generation 2 Colt Single Action Army (SAA) in .45 Colt. It has a blued cylinder, frame, and barrel. The trigger, trigger guard, hammer, ejector, and grip frames are gold-plated. The wood grips have the Colt Medallion. The left side of the barrel states "1663—CAROLINA CHARTER TERCENTENARY—1963" in gold letters. The revolver is unfired. It is one revolver of a two revolver set. The other revolver is a Colt Frontier Scout in .22 LR. The revolvers have matching serial numbers. Both revolvers are unfired and in excellent condition. The revolvers come in a felt-lined wood presentation case. The wood case has some handling wear. See photos.
