The forward sight cover is a really cool patent that folds back to expose the main sight and a hidden night sight.
The bore shows fairly worn rifling and is medium dark . This gun reeks of safari in India and Africa. It would be fun to restore but to be honest I would leave it as is as the patina of many honest hunts gives it a glow that could never be reproduced.
