1921 first generation vintage Colt Frontier Six Shooter single action revolver, serial number 337659. 7 - 1/2" round barrel chambered in .44-40 WCF , single line Colt Hartford, CT barrel address. 2 piece vintage checkered walnut grips. Screws are in good condition and not buggered. Accompanied by a factory letter indicating shipment as a blue .44-40 7 - 1/2" gun with wood grips sent to J.A. Johnston, 529 Smithfield Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, C/O George P. riggs, in a shipment of 1 sent February 23rd, 1921.Barrel has turned to a blue brown patina with scattered handling marks. Frame has good case colors remaining. cylinder retains a vast majority of its original blue. Action works well with strong lockup and four clicks. Numbers match and comes with Colt factory archives letter shown in photos. Good bore with strong rifling. A very good looking and functioning Colt Single Action Army first generation revolver in the desirable old west 44/40 chambering. This Colt will give years of shooting enjoyment, or find a nest in your safe.
