The 1868 Trapdoor was the third iteration of Erskine S. Allin's trapdoor design and the predecessor to the definitive 1873 series of Trapdoor rifles and carbines. .50-70 Government

Metal Condition: "Good, Most of the blue has turned to a brown patina. The entire gun is covered in a light scattering of corrosion. The lock plate on this rifle was made in 1863.
Wood Condition: "Good, Covered in many minor marks it is free of major damage.
Bore Condition: "Good, The bore is dark with some small pits. The rifling is good considering its age and shiny.
