This Mauser Werke rifle was manufactured in Oberndorf and was used as a target or training rifle. A large number of these models were exported to South Africa in the 1930's. This particular rifle was part of an estate that was in an ATF Form 6 Importation from Cape Town, SA. Wood is solid and shows only a few dings and dents for a gun this age. Mauser logo on right buttstock is still partially visible. Bore is good to excellent. Matching serial numbers on barrel and receiver. The three-point original leather sling is included. A British Parker-Hale peep sight specifically designed for attachment to the Mauser Patrone model is available for an additional $150.00.This is a fine and very "shootable" piece of German military history, and has enjoyed a storied journey from Oberndorf to Johannesburg to Cape Town and finally to Atlanta, GA.
