"Serial number 705652. Made in 1924. 45 ACP with a 5" barrel. Absolutely beautiful condition with 97% of the original blued finish. Grips are excellent with nice sharp checkering. Bore is excellent. This is rare transitional model which has the 1911A1 features with a blued finish. This gun was part of a 10,000 gun contract from Springfield Armory that was awarded to Colt on June 12th of 1923. All of these guns were assigned the serial number 700,000 – 710,000. This contract was delivered across 1924. This gun comes with a factory letter. This gun comes with paperwork that this gun was sent to the USS Charleston from the Springfield research records. Absolutely beautiful 1911A1 Transitional. Hard to improve upon!
