Rare and desirable German 98/40 rifle. Built by "Danuvia". (Metal Goods and Weapons Factory), Budapest, Hungary, for the German Army in 1941, (Code jhv-41}. It is based on the Hungarian Model 1935 rifle but with Mauser and Mannlicher design components. Chambered for the standard 7.92x57 (8mm Mauser) cartridge. This rifle has all matching parts, even the cleaning rod! It retains 95% of the original finish and it has an excellent bore. All inspection and acceptance marks are clear and crisp. It would be difficult to find a better example of this scarce WWII German issued rifle.
