Description:
The condition is excellent plus with 96% original blue finish and case colors.
The wood is 95% with only a few minor blemishes. This rifle comes with a very good plus buffalo hide rifle sling from 1863 and a nipple protector. The lock is dated 1863. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore is very good bright and shiny with strong rifling. The barrel is VP with Eagle head and the butt plate is marked US. There is a very nice Inspectors Cartouche on the left flat just above the trigger. Flayderman said the Remington 1863 Rifle was one of the best-made and designed military arms of the Civil War era.
