Description:
For your consideration, a Savage Model 1899 takedown rifle chambered in .303 Savage. This example dates to 1924. The takedown mechanism, cocking indicator, and bronze ammunition counter all remain functional. Ample case coloration remains on the trigger guard and lever loop. The windage and elevation adjustable v-notch rear sight is paired off with a pinned-in front post of German silver. Scattered residue of shellac speckles the lever from an evident refinishing. The prospective buyer can rest assured that this did not appear to have included sanding down of the wood, as the metal does not stand proud of the furniture. Of note is a minor crack to the upper, right corner of the forearm where the wood abuts the receiver. .303 Savage
