Description:
On Hold. US Springfield Model 1816 Flintlock converted to percussion in the 1850s and issued to a Ohio regiment during the civil war.  The lock is marked US Springfield 1832 . The full length 3 band dark walnut stock is marked Ohio on the top of the wrist and left flat. And is in good condition showing much use as would be expected from a musket of this age. The full length barrel has correct v p Eagle markings near the breach  has a bayonet lug near the muzzle and a wood tompolin included.  All metal parts are brown with some scattered pitting.  Both sling swivels and a period ram rod are present although the ramrod has been shortened to 30 inches.
