Description:
The Colt New Service revolver was manufactured from 1898 to 1946 and, and as the Model 1917, saw action in combat from World War I to Vietnam and was used by the armed forces of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, the Philippines, and Cuba as well as numerous federal agencies and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. It was a reliable and strong large frame revolver and is highly sought after by collectors. This civilian issue Colt New Service was manufactured in 1920 and is chambered in .45 ACP. The cylinder is bored with a "lip" that will allow the revolver to be fired with or without a moon clip, but a moon clip will aid in extraction of fired cartridges (none included). The pistol is in good condition and has been nicely reblued. It has original hard rubber grips and a lanyard ring. .45 ACP
