The 33 1/8"" half octagon barrel has a very good smooth bore (original 54 caliber rifled bore slightly reamed to about 56 caliber) with rifling cuts still evident at the muzzle.. The barrel is marked on the top flat H. DERINGER over PHILADa and F over P over US on the ldrt flat. All the metal except the lock has a smooth brown patina. The lock is marked US over H.DERINGER over PHILADa. It, and the cock, are a smooth dark blue-brown, the result of the case coloring process. The ramrod and swivels are present. The patch box operates correctly. The stock is good with an old added finish, moderate issue dents and dings, a little wood loss at the barrel, barrel tang, and ramrod channel, and an expertly replaced piece at the top of the lock. The action functions correctly. Priced reasonably to reflect the reconversion, smooth bore, and repair. This one will look good in your collection! SOLD Antique: Yes |
