Description: Boxlocks - It was such a wonderful email to receive from Atkin Grant & Lang sharing photos of their original ledger describing this gun. That ledger shows the gun was sold August 13th 1926 to T.E.Dennis "For his son." What a great gift from father to son. I can’t help envision the scene when the father gave it to him. Can you see the huge grin on a boy’s face like I do? Do you know of a young boy or girl that would produce a grin like this if this Grant was given again as assuredly it did the first time it was given? Note the wonderful condition. This gun was treasured and well taken care of. Lots of original case color, blue, and wood finish. The gun is tight on face and has no pitting in the barrels. The length of pull is for a young person as it was intended but could easily be lengthened with a 1" pad or more with a matching wood extension. I can see the case can with no trouble be modified to accept the extra length. Stephen Grant as far as I know never built any sidelock 410 guns but they obviously had at least one boxlock built in the trade for a special client. This is the only one I have seen dealing with English guns for near 30 years. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 4271 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection. |
