Description:
This M5 Bayonet is paired with an M8A1 Scabbard. First made in 1953 and used
in Korea and Vietnam with the M1 Garand Rifle. The handle is designed with rows
of mini-pyramids enabling a sure grip. The latch on the handle works fine to
release the lock holding the bayonet to the rifle. The underside of the crossguard
is etched with "IMPERIAL" and "U.S.M5". The metal neck of the scabbard is
etched with "USM8A1" and the letters "VIZ". The scabbard is in fine condition
except for a small worn spot near the rivet that holds the snap loop on to the top.
The bayonet is 11 and 3/8" total length. The blade is 6 and 5/8" and has not been
sharpened, retaining the factory gray finish.
