Description:
Sublime and unique leather take-down case for a double rifle or break-down shotgun with barrels up to 31 inches. Made by Bell & Moor of Newcastle, England, with maker's name tooled under the flap. Wonderful rich patina to the leather exterior, the likes of which only years of proper cleaning and waxing can build up to create. Green baize interior with minor honest wear to the barrel channel. The stock/action section shows the baize worn to the leather to one saide, but it's entirely functional. Flap and handle in excellent condition as is all stitching for what is a near 100-year old work of art. This vintage case has flat sides in contrast to the rounded edges of virtually all other leather break-down or leg-of-mutton cases. Exquisite for the discerning double user and equally suitable for a vintage or modern sporting gun.
