Description:
1937 Colt 1911A1 Navy contract pistol. This is the first year of the 1911A1 and it is one of only 869 Navy contract pistols. This firearm is all original and all correct. The slide and frame are numbers matching. It has the correct P marked lug with no marking forward of the lug. The bore has strong lands and grooves. It does have a little frost. The finish is also original. Most of the leading edges are sharp. There is some trace thinnging on the grip straps. There is also some scattered freckling. On the right side of the slide about 1 inch behing the muzzle there is a 1/2' square area of corrosion. The rest of the pistol exibits little in the way of handling. Overall the finish rates 85%. The grips are in very high condition with just a few compressions in the checkers. I am happy to provide photos of the internals as well as ony other areas of the pistol upon request.
