Description:
SOLD A fine French Flintlock early calvary pisrol of about .70 cal, with a '' round barrel with an oxidized bore. This pistol is in typical An XIII configuration aside from a period updated swiveling ramrod assembly. The iron surfaces are a mix of gray-brown and dark oxidized brown patina showing some areas of active oxidation and some moderate old pitting along the top of the barrel. The top of the breech shows a rather deeply struck ''HHT''. The brass hardware has toned to a dark ocher patina showing some scattered light dings and old tarnishing. The walnut stock rates good showing moderate field use abrasions overall. The left stock flat shows what appears to be a carved ''Fx'' and the underside is stamped ''GEF 3 / 12'',likely a unit military marking? The lock still functions crisply, with the correct French flint! When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
