Description:
Wanted: Hunter/huntress. If you have always wanted a gorgous Parker you could take afield and not be worried about scratching your "collector' investment, here it is. A 16ga GH Parker that ain"t no prom queen: this is the girl next door, dressed for the prom. The G grade engraving is as sharp as the day she was made 121 yrs ago in 1900: no fool has polished it down.
Except.......
Sometime in her past, the original buttstock got broken, and neccessity being of the essecence, while the season was "on", a smaller replacement, probably a 20ga, was installed with added cheek pieces to make up the difference on her  #2 frame. Actually this was not an uncommon practice, back in the day. But some idiot filed the the lower rear corner of the action to match the stock!!!
This GH is a shooter, period. If you want an investment grade Parker, buy one from a reputable dealer: this ain't it.
Tha damascus barrels were restored to 100% by Bachelder in Grand Rapids.
I installed a beavertail forend from a #2 VH 12ga I used with my dad before he passed. Yes, there is a gap between the wood and the barrels.
Look at the pics and magnify. If it bothers you, don't call.
A piece of paper can be closed in the action,  BUT YOU CAN'T PULL IT OUT. If this concerns you, get it fixed. It's not that expensive. You can shoot Kent low press shells the rest of you life and it would not wear anymore.
Where else are you going to find a shooter mid-grade Parker for this money?
The girls next door make better wives and lovers: I should know.
