U.S. MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION .54 CALIBER PISTOL BY HENRY ASTON. SHOWS WHAT APPEARS TO BE  EXTENSIVE ACTIVE  SERVICE USE IN THE EARLY CIVIL WAR. LOCK IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL WITH  GOOD LEGIBLE MARKINGS & 1849 DATE. BARREL A BROWN GRAY PATINA WITH BROWN PATINA ON OTHE STEEL METAL PARTS. BRASS FURNITURE A NICE OLD UNCLEANED OCHRE PATINA. WALNUT STOCK SHOWS BATTLE USE AND CRACKS AS PICTURED. THIS PISTOL HAS BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK A FEW TIMES BUT STILL WOULD MAKE A WORTHWHILE EXAMPLE ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION or RESTORATION PROJECT, AS PICTURED & FOUND.
