Rare Short-Barreled ENGRAVED Nickel PEARL 1870s SMITH & WESSON No1 Revolver
Very Handsome 7-Shot S&W in .22!
Here we present an antique Factory Engraved Smith & Wesson Number 1, Third Issue Revolver in .22, made circa 1868-81. The No. 1 was Smith & Wesson’s first metallic cartridge firearm. It was designed to hold 7 shots of .22 rimfire (short; black powder), and would have made a great pocket sidearm. This one features the rare 2-11/16 inch barrel with the barrel address on the left side rather than on top. It is finished in nickel with solid mother-of-pearl grips.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is in good shape for age. Both of the mother-of-pearl grips are in good shape with expected wear with a vibrant color. Deep traditional floral designs engraved on the frame, backstrap, and barrel. A jewel of a pocket gun by S&W!
