Here is a rare Model No. 11 Spécial Chasse, built by Fabrique Nationale in 1966 for the European market. The tapered solid-rib barrels are 70cm (about 27.5") with 2 1/2" chambers and excellent bores, choked .014/.033 (approximately improved cylinder/improved modified.) The receiver features beautifully rendered game scene engraving by the Belgian graveuse Lily Cortis. The scenes depict a calling capercaille perched above his hens; a group of pheasants, one of which is taking flight from a woodland clearing, and a brace of partridge in flight. It is signed on each side. The wood has stunning figure and ultra-fine checkering. There is a repaired crack at the toe, and some minor scratches and handling marks, all of which could be made to disappear without too much effort. The stock measures 1 1/2" x 2" x 14 1/2" including a spacer and pad. (To the end of the wood is about 13 1/8"). The cast is neutral. The weight of the gun is 6 lbs 10 oz. A wonderful classic Belgian-made Browning for the collector or shooter.
