Description:
A very nice Marlin Model 336RC circa 1965 with JM marked microgroove barrel, etc. In addition there is a very nicely carved buck deer on the right side of the buttstock (see photos) - we don't know who carved it but it is a damned good job, and almost looks as if it could have been factory done. (Update - we are told by a collector that this rifle with the carving is factory and was offered with the scope in the Spiegel catalog in 1965). Rifle is in .35 Remington caliber and bore and chamber are minty. Rifle is equipped with a period older Tasco 4X Riflescope. Does not look as though the rifle has seen a lot of use. These older Marlins are rapidly increasing in value since the company was sold off and purchased by Ruger.
