Payment Types Accepted: USPS Money Order Description: SOLD. This is an early manufacture Rupertus Eight Shot .22 Pepperbox, ca 1860's during the American Civil War. Very few were made. I have only seen five of these offered in more than fifty years of collecting, and only two actually worked, this being one of them. It has nicely figured well fitting Ivory grips in very good condition. Solid recoil shield with loading port on right side. Nice patina on brass all around. Manufacture markings on bottom of grip strap are clear and well struck. What is shown in the photos is what is included. Indexes and locks up well, and holds properly on full and half cock. This was originally made to fire .22 short Black Powder cartridges; that's not the same as contemporary .22 short ammunition. While it works fine mechanically, it is being sold as a collector's item only, and should be examined by a competent gunsmith prior to any contemplated usage. Trades can be possible! SOLD Antique: Yes Handgun Caliber: .22 Short Manufacture Date: 1860’s |
