Description:
Offered is a very nice Winchester 1873 lever action in 22 Short caliber. These rimfire models were unique in design and fucntion. They were not equipted with a loading gate, but used a insert magazine slide to load the cartridges. The loaded magazine was inserted in the bore end of the magazine tube and fed the cartridges directly into the mechanism. The spent shells were ejected out the top as with other 73 models.
This little rifle retains aproximately 50 - 55% of the original blue finish on the receiver and 60% on the barrel and magazine. The gun retains all original parts and full function as designed. The bore is smooth with just the slightest very light pitting. Overall the riflings are full and clean.
This would be a delightful little shooter or a very nice addition to any Winchester collection.
