Description:
In the book Confederate Odyssey on page 227 it is stated that these LSM marked enfields were captured CONFEDERATE enfields and where issued to Louisiana black military troops during reconstruction. These were used in the battle of Liberty Place where they were defeated in New Orleans. This musket is in excellent working condition and a real nice Tower dated 1862. A great musket in .577 caliber with a nice shooting bore. The markings under the barrel is W.H.E the same markings that are stamped in stock below the triggerguard. There is another marking under the barrel that starts with a C or G and in the wood too. I cannot make out the full markings. Free ups ground shipping.
