Description:
Krieghoff Crown Grade 12 gauge sporting clays/skeet gun with 30” CT ported barrels & a set of 28” CT barrels with a set of Kolar AAA sub-gauge tubes.  This gun came new from duPont in 1998 to the owner from who I acquired this gun.

The Crown Grade factory engraving is as it should be:  Spectacular!  The work was done by one of the best, if not THE best of Krieghoff’s master engravers:  Gerhard Reich.  Of special note the ordinary gold broken target on the hood was done with a pair of gold inlaid geese instead..quite unique.

As you can easily see the wood on this Crown Grade is nothing short of fabulous.  Both the stock and forearm were crafted in breathtaking Walnut by Dockwiller.   The checkering, as you would expect is also exceptional.  The stock has a 14 ½” LOP over a Kick Eez pad, 1 ½” DAC and 2 ¼” DAH with neutral cast.

The gun weighs 8 lbs. 10 oz. with the 30” ported barrels and it weighs 9 lbs. 3 oz. with the tubed 28” barrels.  As you would expect the balance is perfect and gun swings beautifully with either set of barrels.

The history of the configuration of this gun, from the included paperwork shows that the owner started with a standard grade 4-barrel set, serial number 22812.   To that 4-bbl set the owner ordered, from Kolar, a set of 28" Krieghoff barrels with a full set of AAA sub gauge tubes in 1993.  Then in 1994 he ordered, again from Kolar, the Krieghoff ported 30” sporting barrels.  Then in 1998 he traded-in the 4-bbl set to duPont keeping these two sets of barrels and having them fitted to the Crown Grade receiver #24634.  Okay, a little confusing but the end result is a fabulous gun!  Both the 28" & 30" barrels have factory Krieghoff choke tubes.

It is a fabulous gun in every respect, very nicely set-up for Sporting Clays and Skeet.  It has been handled and it has been shot but it still retains 97%+ original finishes and you can see by the gap in the hood it has been shot sparingly.
