If you are an advanced Luger collector, this is probably one of the guns you are missing. This 1920 Navy Commercial can be identified by three key features: 1. The late toggle knobs; 2; The 6"" barrel (fthis one is 7""!); and 3. The crown over N commercial proof marks. Most are in 9mm. Only a handful are in 30 Luger like this one. THis gun has several unusual features: 1. 30 Luger caliber; 2. the thumb safety area is completely unmarked (documented in ""Lugers at Random"" by Charles Kenyon, pp. 182 & 183); 3. It is made from a WWI Navy Luger (the crown over M Navy proofs are still bisible on the slide); 4. Except for the serial number, 4582, on the frame and slide, none of the other parts are numbered; and 5. the toggle and chamber are unmarked. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition wiith approx. 98% blue and has an excellent bore. It has the correct Navy concentric circle base magazine. The action functions correctly. This may be your only chance to acquire a rare 1920 Navy Commercial Luger, especially in 30 Luger.
