Ultra-rare pistol designed by Louis Schmeisser was designed for the German military or police. That plan failed as the manufacturer ""Rheinische Metallwaren und Machinen fabrik"" could not produce enough pistols to meet demand and only 500 were produced. We have seen only 4-5 in 50 years! The police markings o the left side of the frame are vacant due to the cancelled contract. The magazine does have a police marking ""178."" The bore is perfect and the pistol has 99% original blue. Grips are excellent with the manufacturers monogram in an oval at the top of the grip. This is an rare unissued Dreyse, and a rare opportunity to collect it.
