This Colt was produced in 1902 The pistol's serial number is 45511. It has the 6 inch barrel chambered for the 45 Long Colt. The bore is in good condition with sharp lands. This Colt also has the oversize trigger and trigger guard for Philippine service use. The original hard rubber grips are in fine condition showing very light wear. This Colt has the six point star on the back of the right hand trigger guard bow. This is the stamp of a Arsenal or Colt refinish work. Many of these Colt's were redone due to the climate in the Philippines. All of the lettering on this pistol is sharp and well defined. All of the high points and edges are sharp with no rounding. This work shows the possibility of Colt doing the refinish. The factory letter however does not note this. The work is very expertly done. This Colt has seen service use and wear. When I purchased this Colt long ago, I was told that the person I bought this Colt from has brought it from the Phillipines years earlier on a trip. This pistol is in fine shooting condition with no issues. The factory letter states that this Colt plus 299 others was shipped to the Commanding Officer at Springfield Armoury on July 28th of 1902. This Colt has the correct R.A.C. inspector stamp on the frame, trigger guard And cylinder. This is a very colectable historical Colt for the Military as well as the Colt collector.
