Description:
This G 33-40 chamber date is 1942. The carbine's serial number is 8338. It has the 19 inch barrel chambered for the standard 8 M/M Mauser German service round. The bore shines very bright with no issues. The sights are original to this carbine. The front sight hood is intact. This carbine is all matched serial numbers where the serial numbers were placed. This includes the stock. The laminated stock shows service use and wear, There are no cracks or damage to this stock. This stock has the correct steel side plate by the butt plate for Mountain troop use. The bolt also has the cocking knob flattened and hollowed out to lighten the gun. This carbine will fit the standard German issue bayonet. All of the parts are milled and not stamped. The cleaning rod is intact. The action works smoothly and locks up snug. The original bluing would rate a 94% overall. This is a very nice condition Mountain Carbine! Very few were produced and not many survived in original condition.
