Description:
Highly desireable and very scarce caliber/configuration! Here's a Pre 64 Winchester Model 70 transition era 257 Roberts standard rifle. S/N 100*** is a later transition with clover shaped tang and type 3 safety and one of the very last few rifles made in late 1948. It is in very good-excellent condition throughout with minty bore and perfect mechanics. I am rating about 95-96% Blue and Varnish due to a few minor scrapes in the wood and the same on left side of barrel which I have zoomed in on. There is a factory installed Lyman 48WJS receiver sight at the rear with correct Lyman 12S filler in the barrel dovetail. (This rifle has never had a 22g rear sight installed).
This is an awesome and hard to find rifle in one of the greatest medium game calibers ever conceived. (little to no recoil but incredible performance).
