Vintage Winchester Model 1892 lever action rifle in caliber 38 WCF aka 38-40, one of the most accurate calibers Winchester produced. This is a standard configuration rifle, having a 24" octagon barrel, full magazine, plain walnut stocks, crescent butt with steel butt plate, open sights, plain trigger, serial number 221522, made 1903. Tested at 25 yards with Remington factory ammo, shoots very well with tight groups, so if you're a reloader, you can really tailor a great load for this rifle with no problem!
CONDITION: The metal surfaces have gone to a medium brown patina. The barrel has sharp edges withthe original blade front and semi-buckhorn rear sights. The hammer, trigger and lever assembly show muted case hardening in the protected areas. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with dents and compressions. There is a slightly larger gouge on the left side of the butt stock at the comb. The action is crisp with a working half cock safety and the bore is good. Grades NRA Modern Good. Will make a nice entry level collector as well as hunter/shooter.
