Description:
This is a scarce Marlin Model 39 Century Limited 22 caliber short, long and long rifle rimfire commemorative firearm. 35,388 of these were made in 1970 only. It features a 20" octagon barrel, full tubular magazine, brass fore end cap and butt plate, brass name plate on right side of stock, brass medallion on right side of receiver, take down frame, straight grain walnut stocks, open sights, receiver factory drilled and tapped for various peep sights and scope mounting, plain brass trigger, blued finish to all the metal parts that are not brass.
CONDITION: Bluing remains at 95% with the losses on the hammer, lever where it enters the receiver, and a couple of light nicks along edges. The stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, showing several minor dark nicks and scratches picked up early on it its use, mint bore, perfect action and take down, classic Marlin Bullseye intact in the toe line of the butt stock, factory "JM" marked hammer spur extension installed on the hammer in case you want to mount a scope, and all brass parts starting to mellow. Sorry I don't have the box or paperwork. What you see is what you get, and it's a beauty. Overall grades NRA Modern Fine and will make a great addition to your Marlin collection!
