Description:
Scarce BORSIGWALDE “ar/41” MAUSER WERKE Model K98 Rifle WWII Sling Bayonet

Primary Small Arm of the Third Reich!

Here we present a German Mauser Werke “ar/41” Code K98 Mauser Rifle manufactured in 1941 in Borsigwalde, Germany. Borsigwalde is a German city located within the borough of Reinickendorf, Berlin that was an alternate site for Mauser’s production—the main site was in Oberndorf.

The 1941 changes at the Mauser Werke plant included changing from the “243” code to the use of the letter code “ar”, a change from a full four-digit receiver date to a two-digit date, and the use of a cupped buttplate to keep rifle stock butts from delaminating. Borsigwalde production totals were somewhat smaller due to the increase in production of MG34, MG42, and aircraft Machine guns at the plant. These are known for good quality.

The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is bright with nice rifling. This example sports a solid laminate stock with a WaffenAmt near the sling well on the right side and under the pistol grip. Eagle “26” markings may be observed throughout. The numbers match on the barrel, receiver, rear sight assembly, bolt assembly, magazine assembly, etc. Includes an original Carl Eikhorn bayonet and a leather sling. Here is a high-quality example of the hard-to-find Borsigwalde Mauser!
