Description:
SCARCE FIND! Remington Model 700 BDL 20" "Carbine" in the desirable 222 Rem caliber with "AK" barrel date code indicating March 1963 manufacture and serial number 59931, fleur-de-lis 1st style stock with correct Remington marked aluminum butt plate, ramped/hooded front sight, 4+1 capacity, receiver factory drilled and tapped for scope, blued finish, factory sling swivel studs. The 20" "carbine" version was only made for the first two years of production, so this is scarce!

CONDITION: Barrel and receiver retain 95% original bright blue (matte blue on the floor plate) with a couple of very small spots of thinning on the barrel. Stock is 90% with a few light handling marks and an area of crazing/loss on the left side below the Remington Model 700 barrel marking (right where my thumb was when running patches down the bore to clean it), rear sight removed and factory holes properly plugged, receiver plug screws removed and showing light evidence of prior scope mounting, original hooded/ramped front sight intact, smooth action with properly working 2-position safety. Trigger bow has properly working floor plate release and bolt release. Bolt is serial-number matched to the firearm. Some sort of foam bedding was added to about 4" between the barrel and stock at the forward stock end. Excellent bright shiny bore with absolutely no wear or pitting, a 9.5 of 10. QD sling swivels added. Still in fine condition, and a highly sought caliber/configuration combination that will surely increase in value over time as well as make a fun varmint hunter.
