Used in the HBO mini-series "The Pacific" the right sideplate is a reasonable facsimile of a Saginaw gear, manufactured by Allied Armament. It sits upon a cradle & tripod that should be period correct. The brass capped water jacket & trunion are finished in black while the receiver & cradle mount parkerized and the tripod painted OD green. The water jacket has a few dents & scratches though the majority of the finish remains, all three plugs in the water jacket seat firmly. The tripod paint is marked "360" degrees and the elevation markings on the right side of the cradle are completely legible. The tripod paint is worn as expected for a gun deployed to battle. The fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. Bore is frosted yet still retains strong rifling. Comes with certificate of authenticity, import certificate, purchase order, and supporting literature connecting it to the HBO production "The Pacific". SOLD |
