Description:
Interesting Enfield Tower rifle converted to snyder cartridge after use as a percussion rifle. The gun saw use in India, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Canada RCMP ,etc, as a Constabulary rifle . The 21 1/2" barrel has patches of fine pits acattered about and the bore is clean with very fine patches of pits from corrosive ammo. The action works well, and the English walnut wood has numerous dings, scrapes and field use but is solid. Has profuse militray proofs.The lockplate is a Potts and Hunt contractor for England during and before the Civil War 1850's thru 1860's . Small front bead sight on the barrel cahambered for .62 cal smooth bore Cartridge.Often used by mounted tropps for crowd control or guard duty. Very colorful late 19th century gun that could speak volumes. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
