As new, this 2003 Sig Sauer P229 chambered in .40 Smith and Wesson is used but likely unfired. Built to commemorate the Iraqi war, this gun is 1 of 2003 manufactured. Built with true Sig quality this gun is emblazed with real gold Stars and Stripes on its slide and Operation Iraqi Freedom under its ejection port.
Weighing 32oz and firing the .40 S&W cartridge from a double stack 10 round magazine, the gun feels great in the hand. It is configured as a compact firearm with a 3.75" barrel and is used for duty and personal protection. With an aluminum frame and a stainless steel slide finished in Sig Sauer's tough Nitron finish these guns are rugged and dependable, evidenced by their adoption by many security and armed forces throughout the world. This P229 operates on the DA/SA system with an initial trigger pull on double action of 11lb thereafter a single action pull of 5.5lb, it is equipped with a decocking lever which safely returns the hammer to its double action position once shooting has stopped.
The P229's milled steel slide was introduced to handle the higher slide velocities created by the .357 SIG and .40 S&W loads assuring the longevity of this fine handling sidearm. Included with this gun is its original hard case and extra mag.
