Description:

Medwell & Perrett, Suffolk, England .416 Remington built on their own proprietary true magnum length controlled round feed Mauser action. 22" barrel with integral ramp front sight with flip up night sight and integral quarter rib with single standing leaf. Custom bases by ACGG member Lee Helgeland of Kallispell, MT. for Talley rings holding a Leupold Vari-X III 1.5X5 scope with duplex. Three position side swing safety and trigger bow floorplate release. This is a true break in the middle takedown with a coin slotted front action screw. This is a threadless takedown similar to the Dakota system. Stocked in Manlicher style in exhibition Turkish Walnut wth dark marblecake figure. Pistol grip stock with a Monte Carlo butt, cheekpiece, ebony pistol grip cap, and a steel schnable forend tip. Sling swivels are quick detachable. Point pattern checkering with a mullered border that wraps the forend.  14" LOP over a 7/8" leather covered pad also done by Mr. Helgeland. Weighs 10lb 5oz as scoped.
Medwell & Perrett is a small English gunmaking firm in Suffolk that produces a small number of high quality bolt and double rifles yearly. I understand that they are a husband/wife team. This is an outstanding and unusual piece with a solid and well designed takedown system. A true split in the middle takedown. It has been to Africa but remains in nearly new condition. Takedown tool and levers for Talley rings are included. A Dakota Traveler with similar features retails for over $17,000
