Description:
For your consideration , I have decided to sell my LC Smith Skeet Special Grade , I am going to list Pictures of the Letter for this gun ,Please read the letter in its entirety as this Skeet Special is a bit different from most but is pretty well described in the Letter and is also mentioned in the last paragraph of the letter ! This is a 12 Gauge Vent rib Skeet with 30" London Steel barrels ,Double Triggers ,Splinter Forend ,Extractors and a Reinforced Barrel Loop ! It is Stamped " Long Range " although the stamping is not the customary style and can not be documented by the letter it does have the reinforced Barrel Loop and is the only Skeet Special finished in 1928 so as with most older guns it is any ones guess about the Long Range stamping ,it is considered incorrect by most of the LC Smith Guys that I have showed pictures or had the gun in hand ,the rest of the gun is correct ,! The Vent Rib is not mentioned in the Letter but all of the LC Smith Folks agree it is correct and the Lady at the Cody Museum told me when I inquired about this Firearm that it is pretty common for the LC Smith guns not to have the vent rib documented ! Although this firearm has been touched up and partially refinished ,Bluing Case Colors etc. it is a very attractive gun ! This firearm is as tight as a Bank Vault and very solid ,Bores are nice and shiny Bluing is Sharp with a little graying along the sides of the barrels and each barrel has a small darker area of blue on it toward the muzzleas seen in the next to the last picture I have posted ! Overall a very nice Elsie and a Great Shooter ! If you have any questions or would like any other pictures !
