THIS STEVENS "WALNUT HILL" RIFLE IS IN ABSOLUTELY NEW CONDTION - A SHOW PIECE!
J STEVENS "WALNUT HILL" MODEL 417 1/2 TARGET RIFLE - 22 Long Rifle Calibre: In absolutely AS NEW CONDITION. The subject "WALNUT HILL MODEL 417 1/2" solid frame target rifle has a 28" heavy round barrel, an absolutely stunning COLOR CASE HARDENED ACTION and blued block, a high-comb shotgun type butt, semi-beavertail forestock, Lyman 17A globe front sight and a LYMAN 48L receiver sight. The target-weight 28 inch barrel is factory drilled and tapped for target scope blocks, butthere is no evidence that the tap screws, ever, have been molested nor even turned, since the rifle left the Stevens factory.
This superb 22 LR Target Rifle was named, appropriately, for the Woburn, Massachusetts shooting range, "WALNUT HILL", established in 1876.
The rifle weighs about 10 1/2 pounds. The high comb non-checkered, target style butt stock, with its perfect, original factory butt plate, and beaver-tail fore-end are AS NEW, with not even a noticeable scratch. This EIGHTY PLUS YEAR OLD ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL target rifle appears as though it has just exited a time machine, after having received the final touches from the J STEVENS production staff. The bore of the barrel appears perfectly rifled, yielding no evidence that the rifle, ever, has been fired.
This outstanding condtion, classic target rifle will appeal to the most selective and descriminating collector of Stevens Rifles!
