This is the only site I use and do not plan to change. Description: This Werndl 1867 was the issue rifle of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire from 1867 to the 1880's. It is dated 1868 so it would be one of the very early guns. About 800,000 were made and they were originally chambered for the 11.15x42R mm cartridge, but they were rechambered for the 11.15x58R mm cartridge in 1877. This gun has a very nice bore and could be returned to service in military matches. It has a very interesting action that flips open to the right. The hammer nose goes into the breech, preventing it being opened unless the hammer is at half cock. Werndl evolved into Steyer Wereke A. G. The original Unit the gun was issued to is stamped on the heal of the butt plate. Antique. No paperwork required. $50.00 shipping Via Priority Mail. SOLD Antique: Yes |
