Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, #263221, .32-20 CF cal., 24'' octagonal barrel, dovetailed blade front and long adjustable open rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and 1887-89-93 patent dates in 2 lines on top flat and ''32-20'' at breech; full-length mag tube below; marked ''Marlin Safety'' flanked by feather-like finials on topstrap, ''263221'' at bottom front and ''Model/1894'' on upper tang; varnished walnut forend is retained by a steel nosecap, matching buttstock has a steel crescent buttplate. Mfg'd ca. 1903 with blued barrel, magazine, dustcover and case hardened receiver, lever, hammer and buttplate.
Condition is fine retaining approx. 40% original barrel/mag tube blue (nicks at address), thinning and mixing with brown patina, balance of the metal being smooth gunmetal gray with good traces of mottled case colors.
Stock is sound showing scattered nicks/dings and an added coat of varnish. Edges and markings are sharp; action is smooth; bore is clean showing some light oxidation with fine rifling.
