Description:
The SN is A92436B. Per Anthony Vanderlinden’s book, this A prefix pistols is one of those (A90000 to A97700) assembled for the Belgium military in 1944 after the Nazis departed the FN factory in Herstal, Belgium.
The pistol is in near perfect orginal condition with only slight wear on both sides of the barrel lug. The bore appears unfired. Its nicest war-time FN 1922 I've seen by far. Unfortunately its not the one I’m looking for - a French Navy with the big anchor behind the front sight.The unusual high quality aluminum grips are obviously not original but are definitely not hand made. The pistol probably left the factory with checked wood grips like those used on the last of the Nazi pistols. (These can be found easily.)
