I just added some new photos after talking with Steve, in Michigan, who is a US Military collector/shooter and knows more about these than I do. // This a very nice rifle that is the real deal. I was told it was assembled in 1962. The sights are National Match, and all the parts where you would expect to find the “NM” markings are in fact there. Plus, the butt plate was stippled and the fore end wood was “modified” as was the practice on these rifles. (The two fore end pieces are joined together and are not supposed to be taken apart.) The bore is shiny and nice. I do know it was rebarreled back in the mid-late 80s with a new and correct NM barrel. I do NOT have any throat gauges! The muzzle is also in great shape. The stock has a beautiful finish that is smooth and even in color, and it has the circled P cartouche in the pistol grip. Photos are accurate.
